An original 1950s teak sideboard designed by Yngve Ekstrom and made by Hugo Troeds, Sweden. A stunning piece of mid-century modern design, with smooth sliding door and 5 graduated stacked drawers with asymetric turned button handles. Yngve Ekström (1913-1988) was an architect, woodworker, and furniture designer from Hagafors, Småland, in Southern Sweden. Ekström played a key role in the development of the mid-century style known as “Scandinavian modern” his designs can be found in many permanent collections, including the V&A in London, Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, and the Stedelijkmuseum in Amsterdam.
